Our ISO Certification Journey
Kieran Tarpey, MD of Entrust made the decision to sign up for the Quality and Environmental ISO standards, it was with a view to moving the business to the next level in terms of winning tenders and getting the business on utility frameworks. Along with this, there was a longer term need to even out the peaks and troughs in sales both in the UK and in Ireland - ISO certification would put Entrust on a more sustainable and stable path in the future. Becoming certified would without doubt give Entrust that support in achieving this goal.
The journey to certification was by no means an easy one as the Covid pandemic took hold at the outset of the process. Inevitable delays meant that the process was prolonged until March of this year. Working around these issues however, highlighted only further the need to have a solid structure within the business. It also highlighted areas for improvement internally and helped Entrust realign its focus more strategically, helping the company to meet client’s needs fully and consistently.
Kieran explained that ‘by lifting the lid on any business, you inevitably see areas to improve upon and the most significant benefit to gaining these standards is its holistic approach to running a business while maintaining Entrust’s focus on its clients’ needs.’ Kieran goes on to say, ‘it will help Entrust to also exhibit excellent standards of professionalism and sustainability for business growth while building Entrust’s brand across the UK and Ireland”.
Having now become fully compliant to the ISO 9001and 14001 standards last March, Entrust can already see the many benefits of having these standards in place. Recently, Entrust Limited, in Ireland was able to secure an important tender, already achieving some of what Entrust initially set out to do.
As well as increasing sales, the ISO standards will inevitably help boost the company’s reputation and build instant trust with all Entrust’s clients along with making Entrust’s internal processes smoother and more efficient. Entrust had the added benefit of our certification body becoming UKAS accredited. This is a key reason companies sign up to ISO 9001 as many tenders require the UKAS accredited ISO 9001 standard to bid in the first place.
