Entrust first secured planning permission for a single 126.5m high wind turbine at Ballincurry from An Bord Pleanala in October 2014, having been initially refused permission by the Planning Authority, making it the highest single wind turbine development consented in Ireland at the time. Entrust subsequently received planning consent for a second wind turbine in Ballincurry in August 2016, for a 138m high wind turbine at the site from An Bord Pleanala, having been also initially refused permission by the Planning Authority. The cumulative generation capacity of both consented wind turbines at Ballincurry is circa. 9MW.
