Acting for a Meitheal na Gaoithe member, Entrust Limited first secured planning permission for a single 126.5m high wind turbine at Ballincurry from An Bord Pleanala in October 2014, having been initially refused permission by the Planning Authority, making it the highest single wind turbine development consented in Ireland at the time. Entrust subsequently received planning consent for a second wind turbine in Ballincurry in August 2016, for a 138m high wind turbine at the site from An Bord Pleanala, having been also initially refused permission by the Planning Authority. The cumulative generation capacity of both consented wind turbines at Ballincurry is circa. 5MW.

Entrust has provided planning services for the Irish Wind Farmers Association (Meitheal na Gaoithe) since 2012. We have acted as the lead consultant on four different wind energy projects with a 100% planning success rate. We have also provided a range of specialist services on a number of other wind energy developments offering a complete planning and environmental solution for the onshore wind sector across the UK & Ireland including.

Entrust was responsible for the planning process for both wind turbine developments, including the submission of associated environmental reports.
