Working for KTL, on behalf of MBNL, Entrust Professional Services were asked to deliver over 100 Streetworks sites for EE & Three’s 5G upgrade programme. From identifying locations for the upgraded masts to be sited, through to the planning and acquisition process to help deliver new 5G coverage and an upgraded 4G coverage to the EE and Three networks.

Entrust provided a wide range of services to the project, starting at the initial siting and design stage, where Entrust’s ICNIRP mapping software in conjunction with Entrust’s GIS Planning Designation software help our planning team to determine where was the most suitable location to place the replacement mast structures. This was a particularly important task given that the majority of the masts were located in the centre of towns and cities. Entrust then worked to consult the local stakeholders before submitting the planning applications and acquisition requests. The whole project required strong project management skills given the volume of the sites, as well as the number of different work packages involved on each site.

This project required Entrust’s Planning Consultancy and Technical Services input and demonstrates the value that both these services can add into such projects, even in relation to new technology such as 5G.
