Energy Storage
Entrust successfully secured full planning approval for a 40MW battery energy storage facility within green belt near Stocksbridge in Barnsley, representing one of the UK’s largest battery storage schemes in green belt.
Entrust provided all aspects of consultancy services on the project. The preparation of all the technical drawings, 3D model and swept path; the project management and planning application of the scheme and its successful progression through the planning process as well as the preparation of a number of detailed supporting environmental statements: a Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA) incorporating photomontages, wireframes and ZTV; a planning statement; ecology report; biodiversity proposals; flood risk assessment and drainage scheme; and further detailed submissions both prior to and during the planning process to overcome concerns regarding its location within green belt to justify the very special circumstances to warrant its approval.
Gaining permission at this site at Planning Committee continues our 100% success rate on all our battery energy storage planning applications and this site is one of the largest energy storage projects in the Green Belt to date. This site also had a previous refusal on the same area of land.
