3D Models
We have produced hundreds of 3D models for use in photomontages and wireframes from 2D AutoCAD drawings, however we have also produced a number of highly sophisticated and innovative 3D models for utility scale proposals derived from 2D drawings for wind farms and solar farms, whereby we have also re-created the surrounding landscape down to the level of individual trees, shrubs and blades of grass, roads, buildings etc. to demonstrate what a proposal will look in its host landscape.
We have found our sophisticated 3D models for large scale proposals shown in their re-created environments to be a highly valuable tool for interacting with Planning Authorities at the pre-application stage as they can visualise a proposal from any point in the surrounding area to more fully assess a proposal beyond traditional static photomontages. We also display our 3D models at public consultation events on large screens so local communities can visualise a proposal from any point in a surrounding area of a proposal, including from their own home. We have used 3D models to solve planning issues, such as in one example to demonstrate that there would be no glint and glare effects on lorry drivers on a motorway beside a solar farm by creating a drive through video.
We have built 3D models using various data sources including 2D AutoCAD drawings for new proposals and also for existing infrastructure through laser scans, photogrammetry (drone & geotagged image). We can also produce an interactive 3D model in a simple PDF document, allowing one to visualise a proposed development or from it.
